Chris is a lifelong Kansas City area resident. After working in a plaintiff’s litigation firm, gaining valuable trial and appellate experience, he shifted his focus more than 25 years ago to a defense-oriented practice. Chris defends governmental and law enforcement entities in civil rights law and other liability claims. He also represents and defends corporations and manufacturers in all types of litigation, including contract disputes, product liability claims, nursing home litigation, construction disputes, as well as general commercial liability insurance defense.
Chris has litigated numerous cases in the state and federal courts of Missouri and Kansas. He has successfully argued and defended appeals in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth and Tenth Circuits; the Supreme Courts of Missouri and Kansas; the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District; and the Kansas Court of Appeals.
Chris is actively involved in state and national legal organizations. He is past vice-chair of DRI’s Governmental Liability Committee and has served as chairman of the committee’s annual seminar. Chris is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers (MODL) and the steering committee of the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel (KADC).
